International Seminar on Current Issues of Conservation and Wise Use of Wetlands and Wetland Biodiversity in the European NIS, 15-19 September 2003

LakeNet sponsored an international seminar on wetlands management with funding from USAID. Organized by local partners in Armenia, the regional seminar attracted participants from 14 countries to the shores of Lake Sevan from 15-19 September 2003. Current issues of conservation and wise use of wetlands and wetland biodiversity in the European Newly Independent States (NIS) was the main topic of the seminar. Other sponsors included the Armenia Ministry of Nature Protection, the Ramsar Bureau, Wetlands International and the NGO Professional Entrepreneurial Orientation Union in Armenia.
